New Show “Smash” Lives Up to Name

Being such a fan of theater arts, one cannot resist watching the preview of the new T.V. show “Smash.” The show follows two Broadway hopefuls and the intense and competitive world of show business. Although the show doesn’t premiere until tomorrow- on NBC 10/9c- there is a preview available now on Hulu.  (Click through to the preview.)
I found the preview show to be fresh, exciting, and an accurate portrait of Broadway. Check out “Smash” on Monday nights at 10/9c!

My Volunteer Opportunity and How it Pays Off

For about a month now I have been volunteering at my old high school with my former theater teacher. She has just ended the auditioning process and has casted for the spring musical. They are doing a play called Anything Goes. I was with throughout the entire process and it was such a good experience! I discussed with Mrs. Everson what certain students did in their auditions. How they could improve, or what they did well. So far it has been an excellent learning experience so far. After-school rehearsals start this week, I’ll finally be put to work! Starting this week I’ll help students to run their lines, and help them with interpretation of their script. So it’s very exciting!
